Meet the team

Idris Dawjee
(Founder and  Director)

  • Idris Dawjee is the founder and Director of Northcote Solicitors. With extensive experience in the legal industry, Idris specialises in general civil and commercial dispute resolution. His expertise spans a wide array of legal areas, including will and inheritance disputes, property ownership disputes, landlord and tenant issues, business disputes, personal injury, and clinical negligence.

    Idris’ client base is diverse, ranging from individuals and SMEs to large businesses and charities. As a strong advocate for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Idris strives to resolve disputes efficiently and amicably. However, when necessary, he is a formidable litigator, dedicated to robustly representing his clients in court.

    Outside of his professional life, Idris enjoys watching boxing, staying fit, and spending quality time with his family.

  • Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence:

    SW v Lancashire NHS Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust:
    Secured a £2 million settlement in a complex clinical negligence case involving a below-elbow amputation.

    NA v Covea Insurance PLC:
    Achieved a £350,000 settlement for a road accident injury claim resulting in a serious elbow fracture and permanent disability.

    FS v Advantage Insurance:
    Obtained a £135,000 settlement for a client who suffered a partial finger amputation in a road accident.

    Civil and Commercial Disputes:
    GT v JB: Successfully pursued a court declaration for joint property ownership and secured an order for sale.

Shima Maka
(Business Development and Accounts)

  • Shima has a background in Accountancy and Finance. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2014 and after practicing for several years, she left the Accounting profession to seek a new challenge. Shima helps manage the firm’s day to day operations and is responsible for the firm’s accounting and bookkeeping.

    In her spare time, she enjoys long walks and pilates. She also spends a lot of time baking.

Klaudia Szatkowska
(Trainee Solicitor)

  • Klaudia is a bilingual Paralegal handling her own caseload in a variety of civil litigation matters. Her areas of work include (but are not limited to) contentious probate, property ownership disputes, debt recovery, personal injury and landlord and tenant work. With over 6 years’ experience as a paralegal, Klaudia enjoys the cut and thrust of litigation and is dedicated to making a difference for her clients.

    In 2018, Klaudia graduated from Staffordshire University with Bachelor of Laws. She was subsequently awarded a Master of Laws in Legal Practice from The University of Law in 2022. 

    Klaudia speaks fluent Polish and she has worked as an interpreter for a local authority. She believes that language should not be a reason to prevent access to justice and she regularly assists Polish speaking clients of our firm and other local firms.  

    In her spare time, Klaudia enjoys keeping active, long distance running, hiking and rock climbing.

Haleemah Rawat
(Paralegal)

  • Haleemah is a Paralegal currently working on cases involving Personal Injury and Landlord and Tenant disputes. 

    She is studying a Bachelor of Laws with the Open University which she is looking to complete in 2025. Haleemah enjoys problem solving and finding effective and efficient solutions. 

    With a keen interest in making a difference within her community, you will often find Haleemah volunteering at her local mosque and community organisations, looking to create opportunities for women and the youth.
